If you are a health and wellness nerd like me, then you know that your gut (aka the digestive tract) regulates so much! Our gut is definitely a part of the body we don’t give enough credit to. We feed it whatever we want, stress ourselves out, and expect it to do its job right. Everything in the body is about balance and homeostasis. The gut is no different.
Here are some reasons why your gut is so important when it comes to your health.
The gut microbiome plays a huge role in digestion and the absorption of nutrients

When the gut is out of balance it can cause inflammation which can negatively affect physical and mental health
The bacteria in the gut can be thrown off due to stress, age, diet, and various other things.
The bottom line is if your gut bacteria are out of balance, chances are so is your health. An unhappy gut can cause a whole host of symptoms, from indigestion to hair loss and fatigue. Like everything else, it differs for every individual. Gut health is part of what I address in my program.
